Optin Lead Conversions- The 5 Most Critical Numbers To Your Sites Success
Question: “Is 3 to 6 opt-ins a day good?”
I originally responded to this post at a popular Marketing Forum but I thought I would post my response for my readers as well as add to it a little…
The question was whether getting 3 to 6 opt-ins each day from a squeeze page was good? That’s a good questions but Its not the number of optins that counts. Its how many optins you can convert to buyers and what kind of funnel you have that will determine if it is good.
Example:
1) You have a site that gets 50 uniques each day and out of these 50 uniques only 5 will optin. Out of those 5 optins only 2% of those become buyers. So for every 100 optins only 2% buy from you.
So about every 20 days you will get about 2 orders with no funnel to backend products/services
2) You have a site that gets 50 uniques each day and out of these 50 uniques only 5 will optin. Out of those 5 optins 35% of those become buyers. So for every 100 optins 35% buy from you.
So about every 20 days you will get about 35 orders (1-2 order each day) with a funnel to backend products/services of higher value and price points that lead to more sales.
Yes it is very possible to get 35% of optins to buy from you using various methods (such as using video in specific places within your sales process)
But you need your sites base numbers before you can really compare, analyze and move forward and roll out on a larger scale.
What are the 5 critical numbers that you need from your website and why do you need them?
The 5 Most Critical Numbers:
- Number of visitors
- Number of optins or actions
- Number of orders
- Total sales amount
- Price of product, “OTO” (one time offer), or “Thank You” page (if multiple products-average price)
You can figure these calculations on a per day basis, weekly, monthly, yearly
You will need those 5 critical numbers above from your website to figure out:
- The Percent of unique visitors who optin to your list (optin ratios)
- The percent of optins who buy from you (optins to sales ratios)
- The percent of visitors who order (visitor to sales ratios)
- How much each visitor is worth (visitor value)
- How much your lead is worth (lead value)
You can get these numbers from your traffic logs, autoresponder service, merchant account, or other third party services or software.
These numbers are not only important So you can determine which areas of your site need improvement on, but also important for future projected calculations such as paid traffic, and your exerted efforts of free traffic generation. You will also need these numbers so you can provide them to future potential JV partners and affiliates.
After all wouldn’t you want to have some solid conversion numbers from potential JV partners before you were to promote their products/services?
You also need to take into consideration your back end product/services or that of an affiliates that you are promoting. You need to add those sales numbers into your calculations as well. You do have a sales funnel don’t you?
Above is a graph to show you what can happen when you are able to increase the percent of optin leads to buy from you. Its pretty amazing to see the dramatic increase in revenue that you can get from increasing your optin to sales ratios.
Leads: Leads who optin (not visitors)
Purchased: The percent of Leads who optin and purchase from you
Price: The price of Your product or service
Total: The total amount you earned from your optin leads buying your product/service
I can almost guarantee you that there is probably some aspect on your site that with one small change can almost instantly increase your sites lead to sales conversions.
